Introducing: Panerai Radiomir Eilean PAM1243. Two Iconic 1936 Designs.
Both the original Radiomir and Eilean, the yacht that became a part of Panerai history, were created in 1936. The Radiomir Eilean PAM1243 honors the underlying bond between these two legends. The Panerai Radiomir Eilean couples the hallmark features of the historic Radiomir collection and the aesthetic lineage of Eilean.
Featuring a 45 mm case in patina steel, the surface of the brown sandwich dial features grooves and a melange brown finish evoking the deck of the ketch, while the case back, caseband, and strap bear an inscription that reads “Eilean 1936”. This engraving is identical to the one located on the ship’s boom.
Eilean is a 70 foot wo-masted sailboat designed and built in 1936 by William Fife. Built for the Fulton brothers, who were Scottish steel merchants, in 2006, Angelo Bonati, the CEO of Panerai saw the boat in English Harbour in a state of disrepair. Bonati arranged for the yacht to be restored and sent to a shipyard in Italy for restoration. Relaunched in 2009 as part of an advertising campaign for the brand, the Eilean is now very linked to the history of Panerai.
The Panerai Radiomir Eilean PAM1243 exemplifies the concept of Italianità, which describes the highest expression of distinctly Italian culture, style, and identity. It is available starting in July 2021, to coincide with the arrival of Eilean into the Portofino harbor. The Radiomir Eilean is powered by the in-house 19 jewel manual wound calibre P.6000. This movement is composed of 110 parts and one barrel provides a power reserve of 3 days while beating at a frequency of 21,600 vph. The Radiomir Eilean PAM1243 is delivered on a very unique strap in Scamosciato brown with beige contrast stitching.
