News: Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blue PAM 1316 with a Totally Redesigned Bracelet

They say that the third time is a charm as Panerai redesigns its bracelet for the third time since the brand released the first model fitted with bracelets over a decade ago. In order to reinvigorate the character of the iconic Luminor Marina, a new metal bracelet has been fitted to the new Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blue PAM 1316. With 2020 being the year dedicated to the legendary Luminor Marina, Panerai transforms the spirit of this model with the introduction of a totally redesigned metal bracelet that looks amazing.

Perfected in style, it has been reinterpreted to accompany the radically contemporary form of the new Luminor Marina Specchio —mirror in Italian— Blue PAM 1316 with its sunburst dial.

Strong and lightweight, the new steel bracelet is a product of the engineering know-how of the Laboratorio di Idee, a state-of-the-art think tank grounded in Panerai’s heritage. Composed of links that mirror the silhouette of the crown-protecting device —an element that has been present on the other two generations of bracelets—, the bracelet has a fundamentally reimagined form derived from construction that reduces the number of screws required along the bracelet’s sides.

Developed to combine function, design, and resistance, it incorporates a large number of carefully considered components to elevate the standard of ergonomics and fit. Integrated into the case and equipped with an interchangeability system, it is lighter than previous versions thanks to careful work focused on thinning the links.

Additionally, the updated double-button deployant clasp features reimagined geometry that minimizes its dimensions and thickness. Just like on previous iterations but following a total redesign, the stainless steel bracelet features alternating polished and satin-finished links.

The new Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blue PAM 1316 features a sandwich dial, a construction introduced by Panerai at the end of the 1930s for models intended for divers in the Royal Navy, which has become the signature of the brand. The resonant reference to tradition is underscored by the neon green luminescence of the indexes and hands ensured by the use of superluminova.

Lastly, robustness and reliability on the mechanical front are assured by the technical performance provided by the Panerai in-house Caliber P.9010, which is an automatic movement measuring only 6 mm thick with double barrels to guarantee a power reserve of a minimum of 3 days when fully wound. Entirely designed and developed by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, it stands out for the rapid time adjustment function that also changes the date. With a solid case back, the Panerai Luminor Marina Specchio Blue PAM 1316 is waterproof up to 300 meters. The watch is delivered on its redesigned bracelet and a secondary leather strap and a special interchangeability tool.

Sticker Price $8,500 USD —literally only $800 more than the price of a PAM 1313 on a strap. For more info on Officine Panerai click here.
