Today, we bring you the news on the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso à Eclipse Tribute to Vincent Van Gogh. This watch, is the second series of the Reverso Tribute to Van Gogh. Since its creation in 1931, the JLC Reverso has maintained its 'icon status' through wonderment and by paying homage to renowned artists. This time, Jaeger-LeCoultre and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam are proud to present the second series of the Reverso à Eclipse watch featuring an enameled miniature of Van Gogh's self-portrait on its dial.
Van Gogh's self-portrait is part of the permanent collection at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Holland and the reproduction of this iconic painting on the dial of the Reverso, is simply out of this world. For those of you not familiar with the Reverso à Eclipse, this particular Reverso watch features features a very clever patented shutter mechanism that with a roller located on the case band right above the crown, the shutters on the dial open or close in order to hide the enameled treasure inside. While the first series of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute to Vincent Van Gogh presented in 2015 featured a miniature reproduction of his iconic Sunflowers painting, this time, Van Gogh himself, is the masterpiece on the dial. The JLC Reverso à Eclipse is a unique reversible watch featuring a 950 platinum case in the same size as the Grande Reverso and powered by the in-house Jaeger-LeCoultre manual wound calibre 849 composed of 123 parts and 19 jewels to provide a power reserve of 35 hours while beating at a frequency of 21,600 vph. This unique masterpiece of horology, of which only four pieces will be made, can be admired at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
