News: Presenting the new Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30 Degree Technique Sapphire. An 8-piece Limited Edition priced at $1.1 Million USD.

Without a doubt, the new Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Technique Sapphire is the craziest and most unique piece ever released by the brand. Available in a limited edition of 8 pieces, this amazing timepiece features a round sapphire case measuring 49.95 mm in diameter and 17.15 in thickness, an absolute first for the brand when it comes to case materials. Equipped with a manual wound movement with patented double tourbillon set at an inclination of 30 degrees, the outer tourbillon does a rotation every four minutes, while the inner tourbillon does a full rotation every minute.

The case, bezel and case back are made out of a single block of synthetic sapphire, with a completely polished finish, three-dimensional variable geometry-shaped lugs, gold sight ring, engraved on the periphery with the values of the brand and filled with lacquer. The case features 'Double Tourbillon 30' and 'Greubel Forsey' engravings, along with its individual number. The winding crown also made out of sapphire, features an engraved GF logo and the watch is water resistant to 30 meters.

The intricate movement is visible via the multi-layer dial construction with sapphire hour-ring,
galvanic growth hour indexes filled with lacquer, red '12' Arabic numeral that is engraved and lacquered filled, 60-second tourbillon rotation indicator at 6 o'clock, small seconds at 9, power reserve sector indicator at 3 o'clock and engraved synthetic sapphire 4-minute rotation indicator on the tourbillon cage. The hour and minute hands are in polished white gold with superluminova.

The movement is composed of 396 parts with 132 parts exclusively allocated to the two tourbillon cages. The total weight of the tourbillon cages is 1.17 grams and the total number of jewels on the movement is 43 —all olive-domed set in gold chatons. The movement provides a power reserve of 120 hours —5 days— while beating at a frequency of 21,600 vph. This impressive movement, features a black finished 22K gold cover with relief engraving, plates in black chrome treated nickel silver that are frosted and bevelled with countersinks and straight-grained flanks. The inner tourbillon in this movement is inclined at a 30 degree angle and the cage pillars are openworked and hand bevelled.

The new Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30 Degree Technique Sapphire is delivered on a hand-sewn black alligator strap, a black rubber strap or on a transparent silicon strap with titanium folding clasp engraved with the GF logo.
