Insider: Hublot Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph Orlinski Mexico. A 30-Piece Limited Edition in Green Ceramic.
After the huge success of the first round of Hublot watches in partnership with sculptor Richard Orlinski watches released last year, comes the new Hublot Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph Orlinski Mexico ref. 525.GX.0179.RX.ORL18 in a limited edition of 30 pieces in micro-blasted green ceramic. Like a mini sculpture created by Orlinski himself, the Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph Orlinski Mexico features the same case construction as its Hublot-Orlinski predecessors with a polygonal case with 12 facets that resembles the capricious angles on Orlinski’s sculptures using a three-dimensional cambering technique.
A French artist, Richard Orlinski decided to devote himself to art in 2004 trying to democratize art and make it accessible to as many people as possible. Steeped in pop culture, the artist creates a colorful universe inspired by the wildest animals and iconic objects that have marked their generation. Even though he is a passionate sculptor, he loves art in all its forms including design, music and live shows. Represented by more than 90 galleries in France and abroad, Richard Orlinski is since 2015, the best-selling contemporary French artist in the world.
Things to Know About the Watch
With a 45 mm case in micro-blasted ceramic, Hublot and Orlinski celebrate their Mexican fans with the Hublot Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph Orlinski Mexico limited edition. Its case and bezel presented in a new micro-blasted green ceramic that evokes the green of the Mexican flag is the perfect backdrop for the skeletonized calibre HUB1155 with red central seconds hand —another element alluding to the Mexican patriotic colors.
With running seconds at 3 o’clock and a 30-minute chronograph at 9 o’clock, the date is discretely positioned against a white backdrop at 6 o’clock. Applied angular hour markers and a black flange with green minute track complete the overall design. Micro-blasted black ceramic pushers and crown the same shape add to the very Orlinski look and feel of this new watch.
The Movement & Display Case Back
Equipped with a display case back, the watch features an imprint of Orlinski’s own interpretation of the symbol of an eagle devouring a snake as it appears on the Mexican flag. Visible through the back is the automatic calibre HUB1155 which provides a 42-hour power reserve and which is fitted with a Hublot signed oscillating weight. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters.
On the Wrist & Pricing
On the wrist, the watch wears true to its size and really nice. The micro-blasted ceramic is nice and matte and the watch is fitted with a black smooth rubber strap with black ceramic folding clasp. For the price and finishes of its movement, this is a watch that we would pass on regardless of its cool design by Richard Orlinski. Available in a limited edition of only 30 pieces.
