Insider: Bremont ALT1-C/PB Polished Black. Hands-on with a Beautiful Elegant Black Knight.
As a natural extension of the line, Baselworld 2016 saw the launch of the new Bremont ALT1-C/PB Polished Black. This new handsome chronograph was Bremont’s first non-limited edition polished steel watch forming part of the core collection. In a very short period of time, this chronometer has become an important and successful part of the Bremont watch range. Fitted with a gorgeous matte black dial with grey chrono registers and a black alligator strap, the watch is extremely elegant and great looking.
The new Bremont ALT1-C/PB Polished Black features a wonderful matte black dial with beautifully polished applied numerals in a font somewhat similar to 'Breguet' numerals. The dial is off-set with two dark grey subtly etched sub-dials. Whilst its white dial sibling features black hour and minute hands, the new Bremont ALT1-C/PB is fitted with newly designed polished nickel hands with delicately placed superluminova inserts for optimal legibility at night. While the register at 9 o'clock marks the running seconds for the watch, the register at 3 o'clock is a 30-minute register for the chronograph. Additionally, a date aperture is discreetly placed at 6 o'clock. As with all the Bremont core collection timepieces, this 43 mm polished stainless steel case has undergone a similar hardening treatment with the Trip-Trick construction, providing high impact resistance but still retaining its polished surface finish.
This new Bremont is powered by the COSC automatic calibre BE-50AE not in-house and equipped with 28 jewels, Glucydur balance, Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring and Bremont moulded and decorated rotor. The movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph to provide a power reserve of 42 hours when fully wound. The movement is fully visible via the display case back.
On the wrist, the watch wears slightly smaller than its actual size and more like a 42 mm watch. The watch is quite elegant looking but still somewhat sporty. What makes this watch really special is its matte black dial with dark grey registers. Honestly, one of the nicest black dial watches out there. We apologize for not adding a wrist shot of this watch.
