Introducing: Hermès Arceau Le Temps Voyageur. Two Models and Two Sizes.
The Arceau watch designed by Henri d’Origny in 1978 lends itself to a new expression of style and evokes the spirit of travel according to Hermès. A perfect addition to the Arceau line offering now a world-timer complication. Two models in different metals and different sizes. One is crafted in platinum and titanium with a 41 mm case, and the other in stainless steel with a 38 mm case. The traveling time mechanism in this watch was developed exclusively for Hermès. This mechanism provides a disc-type display of 24 time zones with the hour/minute dial satelliting around a planisphere. The planisphere is a fantasy map imagined by Jérôme Colliard for the ‘Planisphère d’un monde équestre’ —planisphere for an equestrian world— silk scarf.
Both watches are powered by the Manufacture Hermès H1837 automatic movement with an exclusive traveling time module. The 193-part —122 components for the module alone— movement provides a power reserve of 40 hours when fully wound.
The mobile counter and the home time indication at 12 o’clock are driven by a 122-component module, measuring just 4.4 mm thick, which is integrated within the Hermès H1837 automatic movement. The mechanism powers the hours, minutes and dual-time display with city indication.
By pushing the button located at 9 o’clock on the case band, the subdial indicating the time for the different 24 cities will jump from one city to another as it rotates around the dial. The crown controls the indication of the home time.
