Girard-Perregaux Laureato Tourbillon 45 mm Titanium and 18K Rose Gold. Hands-on with the Top Watch in the Laureato Collection.
This year, Girard-Perregaux was back at the SIHH Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie —after four brief years exhibiting at Baselworld— and to mark their return, they launched a whole new Laureato collection including this Laureato Tourbillon 45 mm in titanium and 18K rose gold. Sitting at the top of the Laureato collection, this new watch embodies all the historic expertise of the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture. Its 45 mm case, made of titanium and topped with an 18K rose gold bezel and first inter-link —end link. Powered by an automatic movement with micro-rotor, this Laureato Tourbillon is also offered in 18K white gold and titanium. Additionally, while the watch is delivered on a black leather strap, there is a bracelet in titanium and 18K pink gold, or in titanium and 18K white gold, with alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, also available for sale.
The Dial
As far as the dial, the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Tourbillon 45 mm Titanium and 18K Rose Gold features a slate grey dial with a 'Clous de Paris' hobnail motif, 18K rose gold applied markers with luminescent material and a tourbillon opening at 6 o'clock. Housing the GP09510 calibre, the tourbillon bridge emulates the emblematic structure and design of the La Esmeralda and Three Bridges tourbillons by Girard-Perregaux, which has made an unmistakable signature of the arrow-shaped gold bridge, skilfully polished and rounded off by hand.
Produced according to the highest standards of finishing quality, this movement is also one of the very rare tourbillons to feature a an automatic movement and almost the only one to offer with a micro-rotor made of gold.
